TURKEY: UNVEILED

We stayed at the Shangri-La Bosphorus, perfectly set along the water with dreamy views and exceptional service. We also toured the serene Six Senses Kocataş Mansions and capped the evening with a lively party at the Four Seasons.

Between meetings, I experienced Istanbul like a traveler—wandering through the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and the vibrant Grand Bazaar. The city bursts with energy, color, and culture—and for shoppers, it’s a dream. From handcrafted ceramics and textiles to designer bags, fine leather goods and gold jewelry, Istanbul offers treasures around every corner.

 

Then came Cappadocia—and wow, it was like stepping into a dream. The landscape is surreal: rolling valleys, towering fairy chimneys, and homes carved into volcanic rock. For centuries, people lived in these ancient cave dwellings—some are now stunning cave hotels where you can actually stay.

 

We spent our days hiking through rose-colored canyons and exploring hidden churches and underground cities. But the true highlight? Waking before dawn to drift silently over the landscape in a hot air balloon, the sky dotted with dozens of other balloons glowing in the morning light.

It was peaceful, breathtaking, and honestly, one of the most magical travel experiences I’ve ever had.
