SOUTH AFRICA

SPECTACULAR WINELANDS + CAPE TOWN WONDERS + SAFARI

South Africa is a land of contrasts—lush vineyards, cosmopolitan cities, and untamed wilderness blending seamlessly into an unforgettable journey. My recent FAM trip brought all of these elements to life, offering both inspiration and firsthand experience to share with future travelers.

A Taste of Elegance at Lanzerac Wine Estate

Our adventure began at the historic Lanzerac Wine Estate, nestled in the picturesque Stellenbosch region. This luxurious and historic property set the tone for a remarkable journey. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the blend of heritage charm and modern sophistication.

A day trip unfolded with a tour of Stellenbosch—a charming town steeped in history and brimming with shops, galleries, and vibrant cafés. We explored some of the finest farms & wineries, including Babylonstoren, where farm-to-table living thrives, and Tokara, known for its stunning views and exceptional wines.

Afternoon included tastings at Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines and a site visit to the opulent La Residence, where we were among the first to catch a sneak peak in the newest addition to the property - a spectacular home, fitting for you and your travel tribe.

The Cape Winelands is a must-visit for anyone who loves exceptional wine, gourmet cuisine, and scenic beauty.

Active travelers can hike, bike, and horseback ride through vineyard-covered hills, scenic mountain passes, and charming historic towns.

Exploring Cape Town's Wonders

Next, we made our way to Cape Town and checked in at the renowned One & Only. The hotel’s prime location on the V&A Waterfront offered breathtaking views and easy access to the city's highlights.

Our Cape Town experience was filled with unforgettable moments. We ascended Table Mountain via cable car, taking in panoramic vistas of the city and ocean. A visit to the colorful Schotschekloof neighborhood (also known as the Bo-Kaap) provided a glimpse into the city's vibrant culture and heritage.

One of the highlights was a sidecar tour around the Cape Peninsula, a thrilling way to experience Cape Maine's dramatic landscapes. We visited the adorable penguin colony at Boulders Beach and marveled at the rugged coastline from above during a breathtaking helicopter ride.

Dinner at the iconic Belmond Mount Nelson, paired with a site visit, offered a taste of timeless elegance. This "Pink Lady" of Cape Town remains a symbol of sophistication and old world charm.

Into the Wild: Singita Ebony & Lebombo

Our safari journey began at Singita Ebony, where the warm hospitality of our guides, Johan and Isaac, made every game drive unforgettable. We tracked cheetahs, witnessed the Big Five, and even found ourselves captivated by a dung beetle diligently rolling his prize across the sandy terrain.

A short plane ride took us to Singita Lebombo, a stunning lodge perched on a cliff overlooking the N’wanetsi River. Here, Amy, our remarkable female guide, and Andrew led us on thrilling game drives. One of the highlights was watching a leopard play a tense game of hide-and-seek with a hyena.

The lodge's General Manager, Andrew, surprised us with a picturesque sundowner—a quintessential safari experience made even more special by the golden glow of the setting sun.

A South African safari is a life-changing experience—one that connects travelers deeply to nature and wildlife. It’s an opportunity to witness rare and spectacular animals in their natural habitat.

This is my 3rd visit to Africa and it won’t be my last. The insights gained from this journey will undoubtedly help craft unforgettable itineraries for future clients seeking the perfect balance of adventure, relaxation, and indulgence.
