Machu Picchu, October 2021

🔅

After nearly 2 years and 4 rebookings, our group of 6 arrived in Cusco, Peru to begin our long awaited adventure to Machu Picchu. We set off to discover the ancient Inca stone walls, hidden courtyards and origin of delicious smells around every corner while we acclimated to the altitude. Once we had our footing, we set off for the cloud forest and hiking the Inca Ruins.

🔅

After vetting many suppliers in South America, when it came to my own travel to Machu Picchu I was selective and it paid off.

🔅

The lodges were varied and each had its own charm, decor and excellent service, providing a respite -- and even luxury -- at the end of our days of adventure. We discovered amazing local food and were immersed in the culture's agriculture, horticulture, and wildlife.

🔅

While all of these are key components to a trekking adventure, the most important element is your guide and ours delivered! Miguel was on call 24 hours and shared his immense knowledge of history, astronomy, geology, animal studies, and Peruvian culture.

🔅

Miguel’s sense of humor and compassion put our group of varied personalities and fitness levels at ease so we could engage in the experience instead of worrying. The group was welcomed into the citadel of Machu Picchu with a rainbow and beautiful skies.

🔅

I feel the pain of all travelers out there who have had trips cancelled and rebooked multiple times. At Trekese we carefully select our outfitters to ensure that you will be well taken care of on your next adventure. We make the process painless for our clients and take care of details so you don’t have to.
